The affirmations offered before walking most days were a perfect way to start walking. I would meditate on the message I heard for the first hour of walking, thinking about how I could apply it to my life at home. I attained much personal and insight during those times.
The accommodations exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable, and interesting as well. The food was excellent. Thank you for the perfect pilgrimage!
I have always felt there were many paths to God and I have even more belief in that now. I grew deeper roots in my relationship with God and myself on this pilgrimage for sure.
I appreciated Sitabai’s passion to share this part of the Camino de Santiago with us, and her tireless efforts to make it happen! I enjoyed the pace very much, and the unique lodgings and food. Just being in nature slows you down. It makes you realize the Maya of the world is superfluous and tends to bring you back to the present moment.
Being at Finisterre [at the End of the World] and standing out on the rocks looking at the Atlantic Ocean and realizing that I lived across this great body of water [in the USA] was beyond belief for me. The blessings of walking the Camino will be with me forever. The communion with the trees was another inspiring part of the walk. Walking the Camino has changed me deeply; however, I can’t explain it in words. A friend told me I looked happy. I think perhaps I am more content and loving of myself and others.
Thank you for this most extraordinary opportunity to experience the Divine through people, the landscape, the path.
The places we stayed were awesome and meals were varied and so nice. Our leaders were great guides and so knowledgeable. This has been an amazing adventure. Thank you for this memory.
I truly feel solid in the knowledge that Spirit is with me always! I just have to tap in. I feel more confident in who I really am and this touches all aspects of my life – so yes, I am a changed person because of this pilgrimage! Throwing the stones in the ocean (for myself and others) at the End of the World was a special moment, and walking the beach with my own letting-go process was amazing, too. I also realized that I don’t need big whistles, bangs and fanfare to help me process and let go. All the places were amazing. I loved the variety and the uniqueness of each one! The food was incredible too. I felt taken well taken care of and loved the space to deepen my connection with spirit!
I particularly enjoyed walking into the sun-kissed plaza in front of the Santiago Cathedral for the first time surrounded by other pilgrims. I felt I was surrounded by celebration and an incredible joyous energy! I also found walking through the ancient Castro (pre-roman Celtic fortified hilltop settlement) near the village of Castromaior located on a hilltop surrounded by beautiful wooded countryside, the presence of Celtic ancestors who inhabited these sites thousands of years ago, was very special for me. Walking day after day on the Camino de Santiago as part of my Camino Pilgrimage gave me the sense of seeing myself and my walk as part of an ancient stream of human existence and striving through pilgrimage to know the divine. I hope to keep the memory of this, intentional way of life with me always. I am also glad that we got to experience Muxia [at the End of the World], explore the hill above the town and the rebuilt church on the sea, and to learn the ancient role Muxia played in the pilgrimage tradition.
The food at all of our stops was outstanding! I loved the trip! The accommodations were so special, including the delightful individuals that ran/owned the places – I really appreciate all of the thought and care that went into selecting the accommodations and curating the entire trip. It was the trip of a lifetime for me. Thank you so much, my soul is full of joy.
I appreciated the morning prayers at the start of our walks which helped make space for the divine. My highlight moment is being part of this amazing group, feeling the presence of the divine everywhere, so many breathtaking moments; there is not one moment or memory but a flood of them.
One special memory for me on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage was the day we walked 9 miles. Before the trip I was concerned about my stamina and ability to keep up with the group and to complete this trek. That day I made good use of the affirmation we had been given and enlisted the help of [my source of Spirit] to keep me going. But the most fun of the day was when a fellow pilgrim started walking with me and suggested that we sing [sacred music] together while walking. How could I have enough breath and energy to sing while walking uphill? To my surprise, I discovered that I had more than enough of both. We found ourselves swinging our poles, walking with high steps, and chanting sacred music with great energy and joy. Our tasks everyday were simple and clear: eat, sleep, meditate, and walk (not in that order). That simplicity, regularity, and rhythm allowed us to go within and quiet our minds and hearts. At the end of the day, I felt myself exhale and relax into the arms of Divine Mother. This was the experience of a life time.
The space of the present moment allowed for a connection with myself that was joyful and felt intimate. It gave me time to slowly notice what was going on in my body, mind and spirit. Now that I am back in my regular life routine, I find myself walking slowly, moving more mindfully, listening more intently and open-heartedly. Just that the Spanish rural countryside and the historic lodgings are amazing and beautiful. I love the connection with the ancient and with nature. Muxia and Finisterre [at the End of the World] were magical. I wouldn’t want to skip these last 4 days.
Sitabai is an amazing leader and spiritual beacon. Thank you for giving so much of yourself during this amazing pilgrimage. You touched our lives profoundly.
The purification ceremony [before entering into Santiago] worked a small miracle for me as I let go of something that I had let bother me but should not have allowed it to have that power over me. I loved that. You also did a wonderful job planning and guiding in all aspects.
Along the Camino are many churches, including stone churches in the Romanesque style dating back hundreds of years. Several of these churches especially impressed me with the power of the divine feminine. I came away from this pilgrimage with a much stronger sense of my own relationship to Divine Mother. The accommodations for the 2019 Camino Pilgrimage exceeded my expectations. We stayed in a number of charming old-world casas and pazos (Galician manor houses), which allowed us to enjoy the Spanish rural countryside and partake in the local culture and cuisine. The final days of the 2019 Camino Pilgrimage included an extended and varied experience of Galicia at the “end of the world” at both Muxia and Finisterre. All of these helped to broaden our understanding of this special and unique part of Spain, as well as give us time to integrate our experiences as walking pilgrims before returning home to our busy lives. I appreciated all of the support with regard to elevating our consciousness (prayer, meditation, silence, sacred sharing). The quality of the food was excellent. Thank you so much, Sitabai, for a memorable and life-changing adventure. The experience was heart-opening and invigorating. I feel that I am still sustained by the lingering Camino energy.
One of my highlight moments was walking Muxia’s hill [to the cross]. No one was there, only the sound of the sea, the church bell and a slight wind. I took those moments to imprint forever the magical days walking on the Camino on my heart and in my mind. I will never forget that moment or the Camino pilgrimage. The world softened for me on the Camino. I felt a sense of deepened peace that has stayed with me. “Buen Camino” is heard as a song in my heart! Thank you for a life changing pilgrimage! Ultreia!
I gained so much from this – the magnetism of the group forged deep friendships in a short time. This [experience] was real expansion for me – Self as well as self-knowledge. I loved the trip. You have given us a gift of a lifetime.
Walking the Camino in silence was one of the moments that carried me from a personal goal to a Spiritual Journey. The awareness of God’s gifts can be realized by “walking” in the Camino Spirit. The Memory is more than a thought, it is a Choice to be aware of the Purification and Blessings experienced. I feel Life with God’s Perfect Presence is the Camino de Santiago. The commitment to the Journey and Sitabai’s Love of the Camino was inspiring and palpable. Her physical Energy on the Camino was transformed by her Spiritual Self.
After coming back to my “normal” life back in the States, I had become more aware of the value of simplified life on the Camino. How my regular scheduled, busy, always on the go daily life with iPhone and iPad pulling attention away from my center, I’ve realized, had affected my inner peace. On Camino we just walked, communing with the nature, friends and fellow pilgrims. All the necessities were provided. Once you’ve experienced this kind of simply “being”, always “doing” with a few breaks here and there, you realize, won’t quite fulfill soul’s yearning for deep stillness. I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to nurture my soul this way.
This was my first pilgrimage with you and it was very impressive, in every way. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, and the quality of food was excellent. I appreciated all of the support with regard to elevating our consciousness with daily morning meditation, daily affirmations, walking in silence, and sacred sharing circles. I continue to find spirituality in my [daily] steps as I walk with the divine. I have felt immense joy and am energized each day by the Camino walk. A walk with God every step.
One day in particular [stands out for me on the Camino] about half of the way through, where I was steeped in so much grounded love and bliss that I thought I might burst into the ether! I remember being reminded at the beginning of the trip that while the visual experience of the Camino was to be expected, the true gift of the Camino lay within oneself and connecting to nature and my true Self. That happened for me during the second week of the Camino. Suddenly I was no longer a pilgrim walking a trail, I WAS the trail and the sky, the chestnut trees, the birds, flowers, pastures, cows, sheep. I had become One with the Universe and I was no longer breathing; it was breathing me. There were no boundaries between my body and everything around me. I was everything and everything was me! Perfect harmony! I enjoyed every place we stayed, but the pazos were a special treat not only because of the relative luxury compared to the humbler lodgings, but because of their history and countryside settings. They were quieter, sometimes only housing our Camino family for the night, which gave us a private intimate environment to reflect after a day’s walk and to meditate peacefully in the mornings as a group.
